Experienced field operations staff manages and supports all our officers. All company Supervisors and Operations Department personnel have been promoted from within the organization and have served as security officers themselves, so they understand the requirements of the jobs our employees perform.

Excelsior Defense maintains the following minimum requirements for security officer candidates regardless of their duties or assignments. These standards are designed to protect our clients, reduce corporate and individual liability, enhance officer safety and meet the requirements of state or federal laws for the security industry. By establishing these standards, Excelsior Defense ensures that our officers are able to move up in the ranks within the company, and that they attract other highly qualified individuals through their exceptional level of professionalism.

Candidates to become an Excelsior Defense security officer must:

1. Be at least 18 years of age (21 years of age for armed assignments and for work in those states where 21 is the minimum age for security employment)
2. Be a high school graduate with the ability to prove such status, or possess an equivalency certificate (GED), or participate in the Excelsior training program averaging a passing score and attaining a passing score on the Excelsior administered training examinations.
3. Be of good general health without physical defects or abnormalities which would interfere with performance of duties
4. Be literate in English, able to read and understand written orders and instructions, write reports conveying complete information, and maintain complete standard forms and logs
5. Not have been terminated from previous employment for other than honorable circumstances unless extenuating causes can be documented and appropriately verified
6. Have no record of felony conviction or misdemeanor conviction including moral turpitude
7. Have the ability to obtain a state license with application procedures in process, where appropriate
8. If having served in the military, have an Honorable Discharge with a DD-214 document to support the Honorable Discharge.
